And make sure that pencil has an eraser. Because great coaching is not about making a training plan. Great coaching is about making adjustments to the training plan. Check out the latest Coach Bennett's Newsletter for a great read on this topic and so much more.
I needed to read this this week. I am currently training for a HM in October, the weather has been terrible & I am exhausted so I have decided to have a week off & swapped the running for other things. This has made me feel so much better
Any strategies to deal with the intense guilt that haunts you when you cannot go out for a run? Even on rest days I really struggle to deal with the fact that I'm not running, even though I KNOW that it's needed and you tell me all the time.
This is just what I needed today. I started the marathon training on the NRC app last month, because that's where I felt I should be. Turns out I wasn't. Scrapped that and started the half marathon training instead. Week one was amazing and on course.
Week two has been heat waves, forest fire smoke, schedule changes, one year old not sleeping, people wanting early meetings at work...and I already have I so only four runs booked this week instead of five.
This morning doing my "it's just a run" run the app decided not to count it....right after I'm churning through my head how I'm going to fit three more runs in on two days.
Thank you. This is a life saver. OCD is a hell of a thing.

Nothing better than staying flexible! In body AND mind.
