Also, I wanted to say - I’m a couch to 5k runner (with asthma) and after I finished the Cto5k programme, I wasn’t sure where to go. Someone recommended NRC to me and I’ve been running with you (and D to the E) for 2 years, since!
So - Thank you!
I’m super slow due to my asthma but you two always make me laugh and you make me a better runner! You also make me feel included in the community, which I did not feel before! I particularly love the headspace runs.
Wow, this is really what I needed to hear today. I'm sick and I have my first half marathon on Sunday (that you helped me train for with NRC, so thank you!) and I was feeling bad about not being able to do the runs this final week. But I know that resting up so I'm as healthy as possible for the race is the right thing to do. Thank you for this!
Thanks, Coach. Very seriously, I talk about my running coach and I mean you. You have changed my life in a hundred positive ways, and one of the best that echoes and reverberates throughout other areas of my life is I don’t let the jackass voices win anymore. I believe I’m doing my best. There’s an old Mountain Goats song where John Darnielle writes, “Some days I think I’d feel better if I tried harder/ most days I know that’s not true.” As someone who lives with severe chronic illness and came to running late in life, ALL of your coaching is a gift, but the kindness— and how it is always about running and not about running— that’s the beautiful thing. Thank you Coach.
Exactly what I needed to hear today. I maxed out after two sets of intervals knowing I had one more to go but I couldn’t. I listened to my body today and stopped at two sets. I open my phone and got this newsletter and It made my day! Thank you Coach Bennett!! You are the best!
I am starting to get sick and all I can think of is, you have 6 weeks until your half. I know I need to focus on getting healthy. But my mind is telling me YOU HAVE 6 WEEKS LEFT TO TRAIN. YOU NEED TO RUN. The struggle is real and your post was perfect timing.
This is exactly what I needed to read today. Thank you Coach Bennett.
Love this coach, I am going to be a good coach to myself today- running and not running
That really chimes with me. So often things happen, and I end up berating myself for falling short. I must stop that!
Thanks coach! I really want to run but I’m ill, so have had to give it a miss 😭

So thank you from Wales, UK!
Super slow is relative. Always people quicker and slower but they aren’t you and it’s you that are doing this and smashing it ! Well done. 👍🏃🏻♂️🏃♀️
Thank you Steve! I’ve also got long covid so I am like a snail 😂 thanks for the encouragement, I appreciate it!
Even more impressive by you with long Covid. Onwards and upwards and please keep us all posted 👍🏃♀️🏃🏻♂️

Thank you Coach! I needed to hear that today.
Thanks, Coach. This is exactly what I needed to hear today.
Please please please add more treadmill runs to NRC app! Weather in Ct is rough still & we need inside runs! Only 9 in the entire library! Thank you!!

Amazing advice as usual. Thank you coach. You are a badass… and so am I
Always enjoy your great wisdom and encouragement...with the right amount of sass
When the snowplows are just scraping your street, maybe it's OK to NOT get out of bed and run... Got it. Thanks.
Coach Bennet the 🐐

Just what I need! Thanks Coach 😊
