Right?!! I haven’t been able to share it on YouTube for awhile. So this was a fun place to share it again. I made that a long, long time ago. Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much for sharing, that was an awesome day! I remember that like it was yesterday. I started watching the marathon and switched to the Sox game when it came on, but became so transfixed by what Joanie was accomplishing I had to stay with her race. I believe I remember a quote from one of the other runners that she just didn't want to die on the course while Joanie showed her true grit making us Mainers, country and runners unbelievably proud that day.
Thank YOU for reading the newsletter and for sharing this. I’m going to put aside the fact that I’m a Yankee fan for a moment and focus on our shared love of JBS. I hope to make it out for B2B too!
It was a wonderful day. Joan is a gift to our sport and our life. I was in LA that day and was fortunate to enjoy the Games but Joan's victory was the highlight by far.
Wishing Joan (and Scott) good health and days of rest. Her life was never the same.
I found that video back in 2010 or so and it was one of my FAVORITE marathon hype videos. Then it seemed to disappear and I was so sad. I loved sharing it with people. And now I find it here! I was just thinking yesterday about entering a fall marathon (after two kids and a Feb knee surgery). This feels like a sign… 🤭
Coach, I shared the video with my high school daughter. Our eyes welled up with tears together. That Killers song is now on my running playlist. I love it! Thanks for sending it!!
That video 💖💖💖💖

Hope to see you over here some year for her race.

Thanks for sharing Walt! And you are spot on about Joanie being a gift. She’s truly an amazing person.
