That first bit really could have been written about me! I did the Cambridge HM at the weekend, every time I posted on the HM Facebook page I felt like I shouldn't be there, every would know I'm not a real runner....I was in the last 70 finishers, but I did it. It was hard but I got round. Had to walk some, but I finished. I know what you would say to me...

I'm going to say it anyway. Because you NEED to hear it. You are not only a runner but you are a badass runner because you take on challenges and risk failure! Be proud of that performance. I'm proud of your performance. And I know what's up! Cheers!

Thank you my dear, that really makes a difference!

Just one point I would like to make - I know you cannot deal with every person as an individual, but I would love some advise on how to deal with long term illness/treatment side effects. Not every runner is in the peak of health...I won't bore you with my problems, but they certainly do impact on my running.

Maybe an Andy P. podcast?

Jumped into the NRC half marathon training this week and am having FUN with it and surprising myself in the process! Thank you for your guided runs, they are such a boost of motivation, fun, smiles, etc. I ran my first marathon last fall (Chicago, it was epic!) and now am looking forward to trying new things like speed work in this current (and upcoming) training cycle. Looking forward to continuing the half marathon training and accomplishing cool things!

I did my first half marathon and full marathon this year, both while listening to guided runs in NRC. Coach Bennett, I owe you big time! Running is extremely mental, and you were always spot on with the encouragement. Whenever I felt like beating myself up for walking for backing off, I'd instantly think to myself "Wait, Coach Bennett wouldn't be so proud of that. I'm doing just fine and I can definitely slow it down." Positive reinforcement all the way! Thank you soooo much for all the wisdom nuggets, coach!

Absolutely love this, CB! Especially the note about ruining running by making it complicated.

I definitely have not ever researched which gels from which companies to take a which times or found myself mid-race fumbling with the zipper on the back of my running shorts to get the caffeinated 100g gel, losing precious seconds, and having the gel slip through my fingers anyways, and then being a mental disaster for the next mile frustrated over it instead of just... you know running. Again, all hypothetical here.

Yup, running is much more than numbers. Running races isn’t for everyone, nor does it need to be. Running can be an amazing way to experience new places, meet with friends or gain clarity after a stressful day. So many ways to enjoy it.

That's my fault. Sometimes I play around with the wording and it can definitely get confusing. As for the Dunkin' Donuts... I had a massive breakfast from there at Logan Airport and it did not ruin my running. It was delicious. Cheers to you and thank you for reading and running!
